The windiest spot in Europe is equipped for practicing numerous wind sports such as kitesurfing and windsurfing thanks above all to the perfect wind conditions, with the typical “boria” and the tramontana that penetrate decisively and impetuously all year round, reaching the peak of strength and frequency between April and September, ideal months for freeing yourself in the sea and whirling on your board without problems.

Arriving at the beach directly from the Punta Pellaro Nature Reserve, after a few hundred meters to the north, you can exit into the sea with a 100-degree angle and 100% safety, thanks to the protection from the north wind that the airport gulf provides, and the assistance service of the Free Spirit club.

“ Little Brazil ”, as Punta Pellaro has been nicknamed for years , due to its perfect climatic and landscape conditions, is a community that hosts the ASD Free Spirits in a 15,000 m2 sports park ideal for sport and recreation, even for families.

Kitesurfing, windsurfing, paragliding, canoeing, sailing, and SUP are among the sports available at the Free Spirits beach club, which is equipped for everyone with umbrellas, a grill bar, pizzeria, green areas, and a play area for children to enjoy in complete freedom. For sports enthusiasts, it offers all the necessary services for practicing sports, from an air compressor to a tool bench, hot showers, and fresh water for washing equipment.

The kitesurfing spot in Calabria at Punta Pellaro is also ideal for paragliding and for discovering new places by mountain bike .

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

Thanks to the side-on shore direction of the wind and the service boat, at Free Spirits you will find perfect conditions to set the upwind or try the first jumps.

FREESTYLE & PRO STYLE

In Punta Pellaro you will never find "a washing machine". Even with very strong winds the sea is regular and allows for excellent freestyle or big air training in complete safety.
